Barack Obama will be sworn in as the United States 44th President. Although his father was and imigrant, and Obama (probly) has no direct lineage to the slave forcefully brought to this country some 400 years ago. Obama still is a black man, in America who was promised the same freedoms and liberties as his white counter-parts, but that promise as never been true. Until today, as the 44th president of the United States he will live in the White house that our black ansestors built. The slaves who were forcefully taken to this country, freed, then hated and discriminated against will be running this beautiful country in its highest office of power. The tired souls of the civil rights movement, Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Emmit Till, Malcomlm X, and the countless others who risked the lives so that we, as Americans can be truely free as the United States constitutioun promises, can now rest as the change and hope President Obama represents has freed the black spirit and showed the black mind that it can do and be anything.
